How It Works

Your Web Project Done in 5 Easy Steps

Step 1: Organizing the requirements and getting the approximate quote.

To begin, it is not necessary to have fully detailed project specifications in order to request a free, no-obligation quote . At this stage, all that is needed is a rough outline of your project along with an approximate timeline for completion. Whether it be upgrading your current web site design, developing and implementing eCommerce capabilities, or a combination of several options, a simple and basic outline is all that is needed. Once our staff of qualified professionals has analyzed your needs, a project proposal including pricing estimates and an approximate timeframe for completion will be submitted to you. If the concepts outlined in the proposal are acceptable and you are satisfied with our estimates (We’re sure you will be!), we will then move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Finalizing the project requirements, price & completion deadline.

In this phase, representatives from our technical and design teams will work with you and your staff to develop detailed project specifications. Since out first priority is our client’s satisfaction, detailed project specifications are crucial in order for your project to look good, work right and be completed on time. Once all specifications have been finalized, a development agreement detailing project pricing and completion deadlines will be submitted.

Depending on project size and scope, Chestnut Software may ask for payment in advance. Alternative arrangements including full or partial payments made to an escrow account such as Rent A Coder can also be arranged for your convenience. We are proud to have 47 positive ratings with the average feedback score of 9.61 out of 10 with Rent A Coder.

Step 3: Project management.

Once a development agreement has been submitted and accepted, project design, development and implementation will begin. Our unique, detailed and user friendly system of project management keeps you, our client, in constant contact with our staff of specialists. Even clients with little or no technical training will always be assured that their project is on course, on schedule, and within budgetary parameters. Some of the tools available to you will include:

  • project status reports sent to you at scheduled intervals throughout the project
  • regular phone, email and instant messaging consultations with project managers
  • online project status snapshots that allow you to “see” how your project is developing during its later stages

It is our belief that the developmental process must be an interactive one. We are sensitive to all comments and suggestions relating to the direction of your project. Subtle changes or “tweaks” are implemented whenever feasible, ensuring your long term satisfaction.

Occasionally during a project’s development, clients may decide to make changes that may alter the original scope of the project. For example, additional web pages might be needed or perhaps a searchable database might now be required. Chestnut Software’s staff is always flexible and accommodating. In situations like this, our specialists will discuss your additional needs, develop new project specifications, and provide you with any additional cost estimates or new completion deadlines in order to move ahead with any modifications.

Step 4: Accepting the completed project.

Once your project has been completed, but prior to turning it over to you, ample time is allotted to you for testing. During this period, you will compare the finished product to the specifications agreed upon prior to the start of the project. Remember, client satisfaction is our main objective. In the event that we may have missed the mark slightly in some area, we will address any issues that may have arisen so that your project performs as you had envisioned.

When all adjustments are completed and approved, payment is processed and the finished project is turned over to you. All project source code*, applicable graphics, and any necessary documentation is delivered to you with the completed project once payment has been received.

Chestnut Software can accommodate a variety of payment methods including PayPal, bank wire transfer, Western Union, or through an escrow account as outlined in Step 2. Payment will indicate your acceptance of the completed project.
